Alex one of the founders of sixredsquares (6rs) came in and gave us a talk on how he and five friends started a graphic design company. Alex was a previous student of our university, this gave us a clear example of how someone could progress in their design career. Alex spoke about their mistakes and their achievements throughout his time in university up to his independent career in 6rs, he also gave us some insight to how a graphic design company will grow and develop over time. He spoke about how he got their company name out there into the public with the use of graphic design competitions and interacting with the community around where they were based.

This talk was a useful insight on how a group of friends can start their own company and what it takes to help it to thrive and grow.
