David Meldrum

David Meldrum a graphic designer came in today and gave us a talk on his work and graphic design career. David spoke to us about his current project Hardy's Sweetshop, he gave us a great insight on how to brand the product inside the store with the aesthetics of the outside of the store. He also showed us how he interacted with the client and how a design can develop due to the clients needs. David also showed us some of his own graphical pursuits, he showed us how he illustrated what he ate in a day for a year. He went into further detail how this project was only supposed to last a week but then evolved into an entire year, the final pieces that he produced were illustrations of all the food he ate.

I really enjoyed this talk from David Meldrum, it gave great insight into the different avenues a graphic designer can take throughout his career. I also enjoyed seeing the interaction a designer has with his client, it also gave me a better understanding on how a designer and a client can interact.
